September 1, 2008 Information for Democrats
Point A on the map is Academy Lane, where the Democrats will be lining
up. Line-up time is 8:45 a.m. Scroll down for the order within the group.
Point B is both the end of the marching route, as well as the location of a tent for Democrats at
20 Church Hill Road (shown on the map as Route 6).
Setting up of this tent will be at 8 a.m., and help will be appreciated with both set-up and occupying
the tent. Please feel free to bring literature for campaigns and causes, voter registration stuff, whatever.
Mi tent es su tent.
Parking is at Hawley School, 29 Church Hill Road (shown on the map as Route 6). A shuttle bus will run
from Hawley School from 8:45 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., but it's only 500 feet east of Point B, so you probably
can walk if you're just going to the tent.
How to get to the area shown on the map: Simple. Main Street is Route 25. It's Exit 27A off the
Connecticut Turnpike, which is the exit for both Route 8 and Route 25. Go North.
When these two routes split, stay to the
left for Route 25. Continue going straight, through Monroe, to Newtown. When you see a giant
flagpole you are at the intersection of Main St. and Church Hill Road,
although there may be some detouring of traffic when you get there.
